Video Premiere: Roger Street Friedman “Carry Me,” Produced by Larry Campbell

On April 24, Roger Street Friedman shared his newest album, Rise.

The 12-song collection was produced by multi-instrumentalist/Bob Dylan associate Larry Campbell, and today Relix is debuting the official music video for “Carry Me,” the album’s lead single.

“Working with Roger was one of my most rewarding experiences last year,” Campbell says. “He’s a fantastic songwriter, a great singer with an innate musical talent and his raw material was very inspiring. I feel like he’s doing everything for the right reason, not because he’s trying to be a singer/songwriter but because he is. This record gives you a good look into his soul”

“‘Carry Me’ is a song about being on the road and trying to stay connected to the home front,” Friedman adds. “I had been down in Nashville writing for Rise and I was feeling lonely and far away from my family up North. It evokes the truth that I have to write and perform but that the connection to home is always there. I love Larry Campbell’s production and playing on this track! Every tasty line in just the right spot! For the music video we tapped Ciro Ayala at Provoke Films. Ciro had produced the animated video for a song on my first release and I am a big fan of his work. I feel like he captured the meaning of the song perfectly.”

The clip also includes animated cameos by Campbell, Teresa Williams and Lucy Kaplansky (the latter two provide vocal harmonies as well).
