Video Premiere: Jonathan Russell, Jackson Browne & Artists for Peace and Justice “I Found Out”

Artists for Peace and Justice came together ten years ago in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Haiti, where hundreds of thousand lost their lives and many more were displaced.  APJ is a non-profit organization that defines its mission as an effort to foster “peace and social justice and addresses issues of poverty around the world. Our immediate goal is to serve the poorest communities in Haiti with programs in education, healthcare and dignity. We are committed to long-term, sustainable development in direct partnership with the Haitian people. Our model is simple: we believe in empowering local communities, fostering economic growth, and the power of education to change a nation.”

Let The Rhythm Lead: Haiti Song Summit Vol. 1 is a benefit album that teams Paul Beaubrun, Jackson Browne, Habib Koité, Jenny Lewis, Raúl Rodríguez, Jonathan Russell, and Jonathan Wilson, with members of the Haitian roots band Lakou Mizik. The record was recorded at APJ’s Artists Institute in Jacmel, Haiti.  Today we premiere the official video for “I Found Out“ which features The Head and The Heart’s Jonathan Russell and Jackson Browne.

Russell notes, “This video holds a special place for me, seeing the song come to life a few years after Jackson and I first met and I wrote the song on a beach in Haiti.  From the warm night in Haiti, to a frigid winter day in New York City where we shot the video–it has been a beautiful journey.  To share the screen with so many incredible artists–including my dear friends Jackson Browne, Jonathan Wilson, Paul Beaubrun Raul Rodriguez and on and on–is an honor to say the least. Hopefully we can recreate this as a live show at some point down the road when the world has normalized.  Excited to share this video with you with the hopes that it brings us all a bit closer together at this time when we all need it most.”

Let The Rhythm Lead: Haiti Song Summit Vol. 1 is now available to stream and download.

Starfish Projects produced  the video with post-production by MacGuffin Films.
