Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2020 Nominees Including Dave Matthews Band, Soundgarden, Whitney Houston, Doobie Brothers, Notorious B.I.G.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has revealed its nominees for induction in 2020, including newcomers Dave Matthews Band, Soundgarden, Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, Notorious B.I.G.

Also new to the Rock Hall ballot are Motörhead, Pat Benatar, T.Rex and Thin Lizzy. To be eligible for nomination, an artist has to have released their first “commercial recording” at least 25 years prior. Previously nominated acts getting another chance this time around include Kraftwerk, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, MC5, Judas Priest, Todd Rundgren and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan.

The 35th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place May 2, 2020, at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, OH. More than 1,000 musicians and members of the music industry will vote on which of the nominees will be inducted, and fans can cast their own vote beginning today through Jan. 10 by Googling “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or “vote” plus the nominee’s name, at RockHall.com or at the museum itself in Cleveland.
