Video Premiere: Jeremie Albino “Hard Time”

Today we premiere the new video for Jeremie Albino’s latest track, “Hard Time.” The Toronto-based artist who is gaining recognition for his blues-infused soulful rock, will be touring with Great Lake Swimmers and JD McPherson this summer and then St. Paul and The Broken Bones this fall. “Hard Time” is the title track to his debut record, which will be released on August 9th via the Cinematic Music Group.

Albino explains that “Hard Time,” is a song “about doing wrong to someone you care deeply for and having to live with what you’ve done. Hoping that one day they’ll forgive you, but having to stew in the doubt and guilt day by day while you wait. Hurting the one you love and feeling like you’re locked up in a cage by yourself, knowing the only one that can set you free is that same person you’ve wronged. Dreading the day the gate finally opens and not knowing if that person will be waiting for you on the other side. Moments of confidence and self-assurance; feeling like your bonds will hold and they’ll be there for you…sandwiched between pure self-loathing and doubt. It’s a positive feeling song with a very human undertone.”

Albino’s upcoming tour dates appear below the video.
