Dawes Will Celebrate 10 Years of ‘North Hills’ at Newport Folk Festival

 

Dawes will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album – North Hills – at this year’s Newport Folk Festival.

According to an announcement posted to the festival’s Instagram, the celebratory set will take place on Saturday, July 27 and include Dawes as well as a number of “Friends.”

The festival’s also notes that they will make a donation to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music in Dawes’ honor.

“The expert staff of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music devote their time and expertise to ensuring high quality music education is provided to the youth of Los Angeles, regardless of race, class or financial limitations,” reads a statement from Dawes on the Newport Folk Fest website. “This selfless organization goes above and beyond to provide the essential, hands on music education needed to ensure the city of Los Angeles will forever continue to produce some of music’s most noteworthy artists.”

Dawes & Friends join Newport’s previously announced acts like Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band, Kacey Musgraves, Stephen Marley, Rayland Baxter, Lukas Nelson, Lake Street Dive and more.

Newport Folk Festival runs July 26 through July 28 in Newport, RI. All tickets are sold out.
