Last Thursday evening, Brooklyn Bowl hosted a special tribute to poet, activist and Grateful Dead lyricist John Perry Barlow, with performances from members of The Terrapin Family Band (Grahame Lesh, Jason Crosby, Ross James, Alex Koford) plus special guests like former Talking Heads keyboardist/guitarist Jerry Harrison and his daughter Aishlin, vocalists Elliott Peck, Leslie Mendelson and Rachel Ana Dobken, Josh Kaufman, Jake Peavy, bassist Brian Stollery and more. The evening, which benefitted Barlow’s Freedom of the Press Foundation, also included speeches from those who knew Barlow and a tequila toast from venue proprietor Peter Shapiro.
