Watch The War On Drugs Perform on _Late Night_

April 10, 2018

Philadelphia-based indie-soundscape craftsmen The War On Drugs were in New York City for a show at Brooklyn Steel this past weekend, and the band rounded out their trip yesterday with a stop at 30 Rockefeller Center to perform on
Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Frontman Adam Granduciel and company, who jammed with The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn on a Warren Zevon cover at their Brooklyn show, offered up a late-night-television performance of “In Chains,” a standout track from their latest album, last year’s A Deeper Understanding. With Granduciel wearing a Bob Dylan Time Out of Mind shirt and his bassist Dave Hartley rocking a multi-toned Philadelphia 76ers jacket, the band effortlessly translates the album’s shimmering, free-flowing spirit to a live setting, with Granduciel’s always impressive pedalboard assisting in the closing jam.

Watch below. The War On Drugs are gearing up for a run of western shows, starting at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas tomorrow and Coachella this weekend.
