Dead & Company are finding their groove on their fall tour, which rolled into Atlanta last night as a part of a multi-night Southern swing that started in Charlotte and continues in Texas this weekend. 

Last night’s stop at Philips Arena in Atlanta featured a sprawling opening “Truckin'” that found its way into an unexpected “Smokestack Lightning” as the jam heated up. The impressive segment is just another sign that Dead & Company seems to be taking the next step as a cohesive, improvisational unit.
