“I’m about two years late, I’m sorry,” Dave Grohl joked to the ocean of people in front of him at Glastonbury as Foo Fighters finally arrived to headline the festival. “Traffic was a bitch.” 

If you may recall, Grohl and the Foos were originally scheduled to headline the massive festival in 2015 but Grohl’s scary fall off the stage in the Netherlands that left him with a broken leg threw a wrench into those plans. Florence and the Machine stepped in as last minute and paid tribute to Grohl with a cover of Foo Fighters’ “Times Like These.” 

“I’m very happy that that happened because I thought she should’ve been headlining anyway,” Grohl said of their replacement. He also noted that Florence played the song “way better than we’ve ever played a Foo Fighters song.” Grohl then dedicated the opening “Times Like These” to Florence with an intro by himself before the rest of the band joined them on stage. 

The rest of the set was a towering example of the Foo Fighters at their very best, from stadium anthems like “All My Life,” “The Pretender,” “My Hero” and “Best of You” to rare treats such as “Wheels,” “Skin and Bones” and a Taylor Hawkins-led cover of Queen’s “Under Pressure.” Watch it in full below.
