The Cuckoos Premiere New EP

April 12, 2017

On April 14, Austin-based psych band The Cuckoos will release an eponymous EP. The group, first came together in 2014 as teenagers and the quartet’s blend of funk, blues and psychedelic sounds has evoked comparisons to Tame Impala, Joy Division and The Doors. Today we premiere the forthcoming release, which builds on the band’s captivating blend of genres, evoking the 1960s through a contemporary lens.

The band’s Kenneth Frost (vocals, keyboards) tells Relix, “This new record was recorded in a garage and a church in the heart of Austin Texas and tells the story of psychedelic love, heartbreak, and new beginnings. We hope you dig.”

The group will support the new record with a series of shows, which are listed beloew the stream.
