Umphrey’s McGee have often been dubbed the best cover band in the game, and they just upped the ante with their latest creation: A cover of a cover. 

Over the weekend during their three-night run at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, the band dipped into Nirvana’s “In Bloom,” a tune they’ve previously covered off and on since 2002, but in the style of Sturgill Simpson. On his latest effort A Sailor’s Guide to the Earth, Simpson flipped the angsty rocker on its head, offering a more down-tempo, acoustic retelling of the song. 

So on this night, for some reason, Umphrey’s handed the vocal duties over to Jake Cinninger and countryfied Nirvana in Philly. Watch below.
