Hollywood Bowl Unveils Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show with Paul McCartney, the Eagles, Jackson Browne and More

The Hollywood Bowl has announced Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett. Scheduled for the night of April 11 at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, the event will feature a star-studded lineup of Paul McCartney, the Eagles, Jon Bon Jovi, Zac Brown, Jackson Browne and Brandi Carlile. The concert, which will also host Buffet’s touring outfit the Coral Reefer Band, will honor the late songwriter, who passed on Sept. 1 of last year at 76.

The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. Attendees can expect renditions of staples from across Buffett’s timeless songbook, which dates over 50 years to his 1970 debut Down to Earth. Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Scotty Emerick and Jack Johnson are also slated for appearances, alongside Caroline Jones, Mac McAnally, Jake Owen, Pitbull, Jake Shimabukuro and more special guests to be announced.

This tribute event follows the posthumous release of Buffett’s final album, Equal Strain on All Parts, on Nov. 3. Headliner McCartney, a longtime friend of the “Margaritaville” creator, contributed to the song “My Gummie Just Kicked In.” The former Beatle honored the tropical rock icon in a Twitter post on Sept. 2, where he told the heartfelt story from a holiday the two had shared. “I had forgotten to bring my guitar and was itching to play,” McCartney recalled. “He said he would get me one of his, but I said, ‘I’m left-handed.’ So, Jimmy had his roadie restring one of his guitars which he loaned me for the duration of the holiday. He then followed this act of generosity by giving me my own beautiful left-handed guitar that had been made by one of his guitar-making pals. It’s a beautiful instrument, and every time I play it now it’ll remind me of what a great man Jimmy was.”

Amex will offer a presale for the show, beginning on Wednesday, March 13 at 10 a.m. local time. General on sale will open on Friday, March 15 at 10 a.m. local time. For more information, visit hollywoodbowl.com.
