The Doors Will Debut Unreleased Song “She Smells So Nice” On Monday

January 5, 2012

On Monday, January 9 at 12PM EST The Doors will officially debut their first new, unreleased song in 40 years as part of the ‘Year of The Doors.’ Titled ‘She Smells So Nice,’ the track captures the original band consisting of organist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, drummer John Densmore and late singer Jim Morrison on a high-energy bluesy original. The song was recently discovered by the album’s co-producer Bruce Botnick, who stumbled across the recording while reviewing the L.A. Woman session tapes.  The song will premiere on the band’s Facebook page.

Also, the group’s final album—1971’s L.A. Woman—is being celebrated with a special 40th anniversary two-CD release from Rhino and a behind-the-scenes DVD/Blu-ray from Eagle Rock Entertainment. “She Smells So Nice” is included on the second disc of the L.A. Woman reissue, which also includes eight never-before-heard versions of songs from the album.

In other Doors news, the surviving members recently teamed up with Skrillex to record a song for a new documentary called RE:GENERATION. You can hear the collaborative track, titled “Breakn’ a Sweat,” here.
