Widespread panic guitarist Jimmy Herring loves to talk music on a variety of levels. Over at the Premier Guitar website, he has new instructional piece that has just posted. Guitar geeks should revel in the article entitled “Fretboard Workshop: Move Beyond Pentatonics with Six-Note Scales.” Here he introduces the “add 9” minor pentatonic scale” and delves into a broader discussion of scales across the fretboard.
