Back in June, we featured TAUK as one of the Sounds of Summer acts in our festival guide issue. The prog-jam quartet is continuing to win new ears through their dynamic, engrossing live shows and is about to take another step forward as they release their third studio record. TAUK worked with producer Robert Carranza (Mars Volta, Jack Johnson) on Sir Nebula, and as guitarist Matt Jalbert then told us, “This time around, it feels like we know how we approach things. “With [this] process you’re seeing, we’re going back in and redoing some of the guitar parts. I feel a looseness that this album has, compared to the other ones—we are letting things breathe a bit, rather than forcing things to happen.”

The record is now complete and will be released on Friday by STS9’s 1320 Records. Today we offer the premiere stream of the forthcoming album, which is now available for pre-order through TAUK’s online store.

  TAUK also features bassist Charlie Dolan and drummer Isaac Teel, along with keyboard player Alric “A.C.” Carter, who tells us, “This album has been a long time coming. It’s crazy to think about when we started gathering songs to record last year and how our compositions have grown and developed. We’re really looking forward to sharing our craft with our close friends, family, and fans this weekend before we embark on our national tour!”
