Furthur will return to Colorado in February. The Grateful Dead offshoot will perform at Denver’s intimate Ogden Theater on February 21 and move to Broomfield, CO’s more expansive First Bank Center from February 22-24.This is the first time Furthur has performed at the Ogden Theater, which has a capacity of only 1,700.

Pre Sales Via Mail order will run Monday, December 3 through Friday, January 18. Internet pre-sales will begin Monday, December 3 at Noon EST and run to Thursday, December 6 at 6:00pm EST. Public on-sale is Friday, December 7 at 10:00am MST.

Furthur will return to the stage for shows at San Francisco, CA’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium from December 29-31. Lesh also hints that the band will play his Terrapin Crossroads space as well as Bob Weir’s TRI Studios in January.

Meanwhile, Phil Lesh officially reopened his Terrapin Crossroads Grate Room last night. The three-set Gala featured a number of Terrapin Crossroads regulars as well as steady Lesh collaborators Bob Weir and Jackie Greene. As Lesh explained in a recent interview with Relix, his refurbished Grate Room features larger windows, a new sound system and some cosmetic changes. The redesigned space will now be able to host weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and even Salsa nights.

Last night’s show featured three different segments. The evening opened with some brief remarks from Lesh and a 30-minute performance by the Terrapin Crossroads Family Band. Core Family Band members Phil Lesh, Brian Lesh, Grahame Lesh and Ross James were joined by Furthur drummer Joe Russo for a show set that consisted of ‘Uncle John’s Band,’ ‘The Wheel’ and ‘Attics of My Life.’ Considering that Terrapin Crossroads is located by the water, ‘Uncle John’s Band’ felt like a fitting way to kick off the evening.

During the Lesh’s set break, The Deep Dark Woods’who performed elsewhere at Terrapin Crossroads with Phil Lesh on Wednesday’offered a 45-minute set that close with ‘Jack-a-roe.’ Then, Lesh, Weir, Greene Russo and Furthur/RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti offered 90-minutes of Grateful Dead classics. They sprinkled some more unique songs throughout the setlist, including a Greene-led version of “Next Time You See Me” and The Rolling Stones’ ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash.’ Lesh presumably decided to cover the latter song yesterday since the Stones played London earlier in the night. The evening came to a close with an extended encore based around ‘Viola Lee Blues.’ The number morphed into a number of songs’including ‘Bertha’ and ‘Touch of Grey’‘before closing with the end of ’Viola Lee Blues.’

Lesh will perform at Terrapin Crossroads this evening with Warren Haynes, John Scofield, John Medeski and Joe Russo. Greene will open the show.
