The Allman Brothers Band will return to New York’s Beacon Theatre this March. The band’s annual run of New York shows will take place March 10,11,12,14,15,17,18 and 19. The group’s March 12 show will mark the 40th anniversary of At Fillmore East’s recording.
Allman Brothers Band co-founders Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks and Jaimoe announced the run during a press conference held at New York’s Beacon Theater. The group performed multi-night runs at the Beacon in 1989, 1992, 1994 and 1996-2009, with the exception of 2008 when Gregg Allman was sidelined with health issues. The band temporally moved its New York run to Radio City Music Hall in 1995 and forced out of the Beacon last year to make room for Cirque du Soleil’s ill-fated Banana Shpeel. The Brothers moved its run uptown to the United Palace Theatre and projected images of the Beacon with a huge ‘x’ through its marquee.
Tickets to the multi-night run will go on sale Saturday, December 4 at 11 AM ET. Please click here for a recent site interview with Allman Brothers Band guitarist Derek Trucks.
