The Dear Hunter : The Color Spectrum

Triple Crown
When The Receiving End of Sirens’ Casey Crescenzo began mapping out the next idea for his The Dear Hunter project, his motivation extended beyond just simple songwriting. The Color Spectrum is a sampler for a 36-track anthology. Recorded with several different producers, including Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra, the tunes were sorted to nine EP’s according to the color spectrum. The concept challenges visual art by emulating it for the ears. Like each song from the collection, the tracks are distinctive in sound and structural creativity. Where the track, “But There’s Wolves?” (off the Orange EP) reveals a funky rhythm behind whaling solos, the following track, “She’s Always Singing” (off the Yellow EP) gives a summertime vibe that’s reinforced with poppy xylophone and angelically clean-toned melodies. The makeshift compilation takes many turns, leaving behind unsuspecting listeners.
