Robert Walter’s 20th Congress have reconvened after a decade out of the studio to bring us Get Thy Bearings – a supremely delicious record for those who like their funk served with a little jazz on the side. Walter’s SoCal roots collide with his New Orleans sensibilities throughout the record, as laid-back rhythms meander into grooves that make you want to jump up and dance.
