Watch: Foo Fighters Bring ‘But Here We Are’ Favorites to ‘Saturday Night Live’

Over the weekend, Foo Fighters served as the musical guests on Saturday Night Live, marking their first appearance on the show since 2020. For the performance, they played two songs off their eleventh studio album, 2023’s But Here We Are: “Rescuded” and “The Glass,” which featured H.E.R.

The segment marked Foo Fighter’s ninth time as the musical guest on SNL, and their first without drummer Taylor Hawkins since 1999, who played during every one of their appearances on the program save for their 1995 debut. As a welcomed surprise, the band was introduced by Christopher Walken, who distinctively and famously enunciated the band’s name as “Foo Fighters on the show some 20-odd years ago.

The band had been scheduled to serve as musical guests earlier this year, but the episode was canceled due to the Writers Guild of America Strike. Since the resolution of the strike, SNL has returned for its 49th season and has welcomed the likes of Ice Spice and Bad Bunny. They’ve also announced boygenius will serve as their next musical guest with host Timothée Chalamee.

Foo Fighters are currently gearing up for their Everything or Nothing at All tour, which is scheduled to visit 10 U.S. stadiums in the summer of 2024. During their travels, Foo Fighters will be joined by the Pretenders, the Hives, Mammoth WVH, Alex G, Amyl and the Sniffers, and L7.
