Watch Dave Matthews Perform “The Ocean and the Butterfly” for ‘Georgia Comes Alive’
Just in time for the Georgia Senate runoff on Jan. 5, HeadCount presented Georgia Comes Alive last weekend, offering a variety of performances from superstars like Foo Fighters, Diplo and even Dave Matthews.
“How exciting! Y’all get to vote more,” Matthews virtually told Georgia fans, before offering a newer composition, called “The Ocean and the Butterfly.” “So please, do [vote]… Or maybe, you already voted, and if you did, thank you.”
Matthews has been surprisingly busy through the pandemic, performing 40+ times at various livestreamed benefits and events, debuting “The Ocean and the Butterfly” at Save Our Stages in October and offering a new, 2020-themed tune called “Windows” at Verizon’s ‘Pay It Forward” in March.
Georgia Comes Alive was presented similarly to the very successful Democracy Comes Alive, Quarantine Comes Alive and Justice Comes Alive events, which collectively raised close to $300,000 for a variety of causes.
