Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s new album Lay It On Down, finds him exploring a range of sounds. He explains, “I wanted to make an album of great American roots music … an album full of music that people haven’t heard from us before. I’m pulling from a lot of different periods and genres on this one.” Shepherd recorded the tracks at Echophone Studios in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana with co-producer Marshall Altman (Matt Nathanson, Natasha Bedingfield). Listeners certainly have responded as the record debuted at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Top Blues chart and also topped the Current Rock Albums chart and the Internet Albums chart.

Today we premiere the official video for “Nothing But The Night” from Lay It On Down. Shepherd tells Relix, “The infectious groove combined with a powerful chorus makes this song one of my favorites on the new album.”
