Umphrey’s McGee to Release _Live at Stubbs 4/20/13_

Rob Slater on October 10, 2013

Umphrey’s McGee will release yet another show from Austin, TX’s historic Stubbs BBQ. This show follows the 2012 Stubbs show, which was also made available via TourGigs on Blu-Ray and DVD. The 2013 edition came during a short pre-UMBowl run through Florida, Georgia and Texas. The mini-tour concluded with the 4/20 festivities in Austin, TX.

This show features a rare opener in “Utopian Fir” as well as multiple heavy hitters in the first set including “In the Kitchen,” “Hurt Bird Bath” as well as a cover of The Allman Brothers’ “Jessica” which the band recently brought back into rotation during their 2012 Halloween show in Silver Spring, MD. The second set will serve as video evidence that Umphrey’s McGee was the first band to cover Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” Released on April 19, UM launched into a brief version of the tune during an improv in “JaJunk” and featured Kris Myers on vocals. The second set also brings a mashup to life, with “Life During Exodus” making it onto the video. This mashup of Bob Marley’s “Exodus” and The Talking Heads’ “Life During Wartime” debuted during the 2012 Milwaukee Halloween run.

Pre-orders are currently underway, with multiple bundle packages also available for purchase.
