Photo by David VannTrey Anastasio will return to the road next month for a series of shows with his Classic TAB group. The tour will open in Charlottesville, VA on February 8 with a show that will serve as a benefit for the Kristine Anastasio Manning Memorial Fund, commemorating what would have been the 47th birthday of Anastasio’s sister, Kristine who died of neuroendocrine cancer last April. The tour will route up to New England and on through Midwest before closing out on February 28th in Knoxville, TN. Trey and Classic TAB last toured in October of 2008 with the line-up that featured drummer Russ Lawton, Tony Markellis on bass and Ray Paczkowski on keys. This time the group will be a septet with a three piece horn section: Russell Remington (tenor saxophone and flute), Jen Hartswick (trumpet and vocals) and Natalie Cressman (trombone and vocals, who is swapping in for her father Jeff Cressman). Presales for these shows will take place on Wednesday with the general onsales to follow on the 15th and 16th.
