Tom Marshall and Trey Anastasio Are Writing Songs Again

Tom Marshall shared this picture late last night of him and songwriting partner Trey Anastasio hanging out in Kill Devil Hills, NC, presumably writing songs. “Still writing after all these years,” Marshall said. While Phish’s last effort Fuego was more collaborative, Marshall still received three writing credits on the album for “Devotion to a Dream,” “Winterqueen” and “Sing Monica.”

No word on whether or not Anastasio has plans to get in the studio with Phish after the songwriting session with Marshall, but for now it appears as if the ball is rolling on a new project. As previously reported, Anastasio will release his next solo effort, Paper Wheels sometime this year and the guitarist will also take the helm at the Fare Thee Well shows which will see the four surviving members of the Grateful Dead reunite for three shows in Chicago.
