In late May, JamBase announced a three-day musical event, dubbed As Summer into Autumn Slips, slated to take place from Oct. 7 through 9 at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Mass. Amongst the artists initially billed to perform were The Slip, who announced today that they would no longer partake in this year’s event. As a result, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey will take the opening lineup slot.

The official statement, which was shared with the event hosts, read: “Friends, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are sorry to announce that we are no longer able to play our October shows at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, MA. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes any of you and we are eternally grateful to those of [you] who had planned on attending. We look forward to playing for you again in the near future. Love to all.”

While The Slip’s complete artist lineup will not be in attendance, two out of the band’s three members will still participate in the forthcoming event. Drummer Andrew Barr and Reed Mathis will sit in with the Marco Benevento Trio on Friday, Oct. 7. Notable, the troupe regularly toured in the early years of Benevento’s solo career. Moreover, on Oct. 8, bassist Marc Friedman is set to join the Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey.
