Today, the Climate Control Project announced the addition of The War on Drugs to the inaugural The Big Climate Thing festival. The War on Drugs will serve as the climate action concert’s headliner on Saturday, Sept. 17, along with fellow headliners Sheryl Crow and Courtney Barnett.
The event is set to take place at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium from Friday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 18. The new climate action concert will raise awareness about growing concern over human-led destruction of the planet and increase public acknowledgment of the personal responsibilities we as inhibitors can adopt to eliminate the advancement of climate change.
Additional headliners for The Big Climate Thing include Khruangbin, Haim, The Roots, The Flaming Lips, Gary Clark Jr. and Princess Nokia. The event will also welcome Antibalas, Ayoni, Bonny Light Horseman, Guster, Joe Sumner & Friends, Mykki Blanco, Pom Pom Squad, Seratones, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Sunflower Bean, The Weather Station and Valerie June.
