Austin-born, critically-acclaimed rock band Spoon shared their cover of David Bowie’s, “I Can’t Give Everything Away.” The track comes off of Bowie’s 2016 and final album Blackstar. The song is an Amazon Original and released as a part of Amazon Music’s month-long [RE]DISCOVER campaign which is celebrating Bowie’s 75th birthday this Saturday, Jan. 8.

“’I Can’t Give Everything Away’ is a tune Alex [Fischel] and I have been playing since we learned it for an acoustic and piano show in Mexico City in 2016,” said Britt Daniel of Spoon in a press release. “It’s just a fantastic song, and as the last song on Bowie’s final album it doesn’t disappoint. We recorded this version live in December 2021.”

Bowie’s 75th birthday is also being celebrated by the Bowie 75 event which includes two pop-ups, five remixed LPs, and a livestream event featuring Def Leppard, John Taylor, Living Colour and more.

Spoon are set to release their new album Lucifer on the Sofa on Feb. 11.
