Report: Coachella Music Festival Reschedules to 2022

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will move from October 2021 to April 2022, according a report in Variety. The report also noted that Stagecoach, which is set to occur the weekend after Coachella concludes, “is expected” to be pushed as well.
Variety noted their sources as “two industry sources with knowledge of the situation.” The festival has not yet officially confirmed the move.
The California festival has been pushed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was moved from its original April 2020 dates to the following October, before being pushed to April of 2021. It was then reportedly pushed to October 2021, but according to the Variety report, “the October dates were not officially confirmed by promoters and there have been no dates posted on the festival’s official website for several months.”
The Variety piece noted that Coachella being pushed does not mean that other festivals will not take place in the fall. “Many states have significantly less-stringent COVID protocols than California, and venues in Texas and Florida have robust concert schedules for the spring. Multiple festivals across the country are moving full-speed ahead with plans for the fall, industry sources tell Variety.
