Relix Premieres New Album from The Idan Raichel Project

The latest album from The Idan Raichel Project Quarter To Six is set for release in North America by Cumbancha on June 4. In the four years since the last recording from Raichel, the Israeli keyboardist and composer performed at the Nobel Peace Prize awards ceremony, wrote a song calling for racial harmony with Israel’s President Shimon Peres, performed for President Obama and family at the Kennedy Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, released the Tel Aviv Session album with Vieux Farka Touré and toured with India.Arie. Quarter To Six offers more acoustic arrangements than the preceding Idan Raichel Project records. In addition, he explains “I conceived of it in two parts so it would be more of a journey for the listener. It’s one CD but halfway through it takes a short break before it continues.”
The Idan Raichel Project’s Quarter To Six is now streaming on Relix.com.
