The new Scrapomatic album I’m A Stranger and I Love The Night is set for an August 21 release on Landslide Records. Mike Mattison (Tedeschi Trucks Band) who co-founded the group with Paul Olsen, has this to say about the song: “‘Night Trains, Distant Whistles?’ is a true musical collaboration, aided by sweet hunks of Taj Mahal and Bobby Bland’s His California Album. Paul hit on the lyrical concept while staying at [guitarist] Dave Yoke’s house on the edge of industrial Atlanta, where you can still hear the distant whistle of night trains, the neighbors have raccoon traps and you must carry a bat when walking your dog (to protect it from other dogs.) Essentially, this song is about running away from your problems. Which we recommend.”
