Relix and Sacred Rose Pre-Party Celebrating Grateful Dead’s ‘Europe ’72’ Adds Special Guests Sierra Hull and Doom Flamingo’s Ross Bogan

Today, Sacred Rose Festival and Relix announced their pre-party celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Europe ’72 at Thalia Hall on Aug. 25 will welcome two additional special guests: bluegrass singer-songwriter and mandolinist Sierra Hull and Lureto/Doom Flamingo’s Ross Bogan. The two tremendously talented artists will join an already stacked lineup on the evening ahead of Sacred Rose, the inaugural Grateful Dead-inspired gathering at Chicago’s SeatGeek Stadium set for Aug. 26-28.
The gathering at Thalia Hall, which has been a beacon for and home to music lovers for over seven decades, has previously announced the all-star cast of musicians, including band leader, guitarist and vocalist Eric Krasno (Soulive), Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits) on keys, Ross James and Alex Koford (Terrapin Family Band) on bass, and drums respectively and Ric Robertson (Lucius and Oliver Wood) on vocals and guitar.
The event, which will benefit HeadCount, will also feature a special DJ set by Dead Inside and a rare photography presentation by legendary Grateful Dead photographer Jay Blakesberg.
The following day, after what is sure to be a bona fide once-in-a-lifetime celebration of Europe ’72, Sacred Rose Festival will begin, welcoming artists from across genres, from psych-rock purists and jamband icons to indie rockers and Americana diehards.
The 2022’s inaugural lineup includes Phil Lesh & Friends, Wilco, Khruangbin, The War on Drugs, Umphrey’s McGee, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Goose, STS9, Greensky Bluegrass, Kamasi Washington, Margo Price, and many more.
