On December 29 Phil Lesh will open a three night run at the Capitol Theatre with PhilRAD. This debut collaboration will find the bass player joining Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, which features Russo behind the kit, along with guitarists Scott Metzger and Tommy Hamilton and keyboard player Marco Benevento. The culminating night will mark the first occasion since Grateful Dead’s Boston Tea Party show in 1969 that Lesh will perform on the East Coast for New Year’s Eve. Moving ahead one from December 31 to January 31, Lesh will appear at his own Terrapin Crossroads with another new collective. Communion also includes Stu Allen, Ross James, Grahame Lesh, Alex Koford and on January 31 will add special guest Jason Crosby.
