Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals Set Dates for Summer 2021
Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz Festival have officially announced their return for summer 2021. The Folk festival will occur on July 23-27, while the Jazz festival will occur July 30-Aug. 1. The festivals will occur at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, R.I.
In the announcement, the organizers made it clear that “Newport Folk and Newport Jazz won’t look exactly the same,” but they are nonetheless “thrilled to be bringing music and artists back to the Fort.”
“Due to COVID-19 capacity modifications, Newport Folk will be extending its dates to present two unique 3-day events of surprise performances, storytelling, and workshops,” read the statement. “The events will take place July 23rd through July 25th and July 26th through July 28th.”
The festivals announced that tickets for these events would be released in phases. Members of Newport Festivals Foundation will receive first access to passes for the events. “We will be communicating with our members in the coming weeks to share more details about how they can join us this summer and will be announcing ticketing options for non-members soon after that,” read the announcement. “Our goal is to keep our ecosystem going until we can gather our entire communities next summer!”
The announcement also noted that organizers are working closes with state and local government officials to “ensure that what [they] present will set a benchmark for safety and transparency through our protocols and communication.” More details on protocols and COVID restrictions will be available soon.
