The late Walter Becker will be honored by his home neighborhood of Forest Hills, New York with a new street dubbed Walter Becker Way, on the corner of 112th Street and 72nd Drive.

The official unveiling of the new street sign will take place on October 28, aligning perfectly with Donald Fagen’s autumn residency with Steely Dan at The Beacon Theatre.

According to a press release, the free celebration of Walter Becker Way will include a formal ceremony, special guests, giveaways and more.

“Walter’s fans have decades of experience holding ‘Danfests’ throughout the country, and they always find innovative and eclectic ways of celebrating.” Becker’s widow, Delia, said. “It will undoubtedly be a fun and free gathering to honor and commemorate Walter as only they can!”
