Lukas Nelson has announced a series of new headlining tour dates that serve as his initial return to the road after the 2024 initiated POTR hiatus. The fresh crop of dates will commence on May 6 at the highly-regarded Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., with support from Shane Smith and the Saints.
Nelson made his social media announcement short and sweet, expressing, “Excited to hit the road this May!” He then alluded to the content of his forthcoming live shows, revealing “New and old material.” After night one, the son of outlaw country will arrive at Lensic PAC in Santa Fe, N.M., on May 7.
After the initial stops, Nelson will continue the run with a trio of Arizona follow-ups, slated as May 9 at the Van Buren in Phoenix, May 10 at the Orpheum Theatre in Flagstaff, Ariz., and finally May 11 at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson, before jumping boarders and arriving in Des Moines, Iowa, for a gig on May 15 at Val Air Ballroom.
Nelson’s final headlining dates will take him to Knuckleheads in Kansas City, ahead of his final May 2025 appearance, a festival set scheduled for May 17 at Freshgrass Festival in Bentonville, Ark. The date above kicks off a series of collaborative festival commitments slated for the summer: Summerfest with Lainey Wilson, Wildlands Festival with Dave Matthews, ahead of solo stands at Grand Targhee Bluegras and Briston Rhythm & Roots Runion.
