Listen: Fleet Foxes Share “A Sky Like I’ve Never Seen” from Upcoming Documentary ‘Wildcat’

Today, Fleet Foxes shared a new song featuring Brazilian singer-songwriter Tim Bernades titled “A Sky Live I’ve Never Seen.” The track was written by Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold for the upcoming documentary Wildcat, which will release on Dec. 21 in theatres and will stream on Dec. 30 on Prime Video, which produced the film.

The documentary follows the inspiring story of a young British Army veteran with PTSD who travels to the Amazon. There, he meets a young woman and Ph.D. candidate who is running a wildlife rehabilitation and rescue center. After he is entrusted with the life of an orphaned baby ocelot, his journey, which startest as a means of escape, becomes one of love, discovery and healing.

“I was inspired by how the film employed unconventional means to arrive at something universally moving, and was struck by all the collisions inherent in the film’s conceit—between species, between hemispheres, between individuals, between the psychological and the natural. In hotel rooms and in borrowed studios, on time stolen from a world tour, I put this song together,” shared Pecknold in a statement. “It was an honor to be asked to make a song that could serve as an end-cap to this unique and affecting story and to collaborate with Tim again.”

Fleet Foxes and Bernades’ addition to the inspiring and beautiful tale was recorded in Amsterdam and New York. Watch the trailer for Wildcat here.
