Lake Street Drive, Lyle Lovett, Allison Russell and More to Perform The Music of Paul McCartney at Carnegie Hall

On March 15, an array of industry talent will come together to raise funds to support music education programs for underserved youth through The Music of Paul McCartney. The fundraising performance will occur at Carnegie Hall in New York City and will be led by director Steve Jordan.

The one-night event will pay homage to one of music’s most extraordinary talents and his six-decade-long career. From his early success alongside The Fab Four to the Wings and an extensive collection of solo work, McCartney’s songs and spirit will be represented by various artists on The Big Apple stage.

Amongst the musicians scheduled to perform during the springtime concert are Lake Street Dive, Lyle Lovett, Glen Hansard, Allison Russell, Peter Asher, Ingrid Michaelson, Bettye LaVette, The Cactus Blossoms, Shovels & Ropes, as well as additional artists that will be announced before the event.

The Music Of series was established in 2003 by the founder of City Winery and the Knitting Factory, Michael Dorf. Past iterations of the charitable music event have spotlighted the work of Carly Simon, Prince, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, R.E.M., David Byrne and more.

Dorf offered a statement via a press release; he said, “What an honor to work with one of the greatest singer/songwriters in history and have him interested in our annual show at Carnegie Hall. We have missed doing this during the pandemic and looking forward to this special night.”
