Jorma Kaukonen Reveals Cover of Memoir _Been So Long: My Life and Music_

February 22, 2018

Jorma Kaukonen will release his memoir Been So Long: My Life and Music this August, and Relix has an exclusive first look at the cover.

The book will chronicle the guitarist’s childhood in Washington, DC, and trace his musical journey through his days with Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, along with his work with the Fur Peace Ranch Guitar Camp.

“There are those who talk about writing books and those who actually do it,” Kaukonen says in an official statement. “I guess this is my chance to jump from one camp to the other. My story is my story. Having told bits and pieces of it over my lifetime to a treasured few, it was time to tell all to a bigger audience. From rehearsals and jams in small apartments and tiny back rooms to Monterey, Woodstock, Altamont, The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the world of the Grammys and beyond—this would be part of the road I would live on. This would be my embryonic journey and much, much more!”

Been So Long: My Life and Music is available now for pre-order via Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It will be available on Aug. 28, 2018.
