Jazz is Dead to Reform with Tom Constanten

June 9, 2015

Jazz is Dead will return on August 1 after a ten-year hiatus to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead. The lineup for this run, as Jambase reports, will be Alphonso Johnson on bass, Jeff Pevar on guitar, Rod Morgenstein on drums and keyboardist Chris Smith along with former Grateful Dead pianist Tom Constanten. The ensemble will offer up the music of the Grateful Dead with a particular jazz flavor beginning on Jerry Garcia’s birthday.

While many of the dates are still slated as TBA, the band will make confirmed stops out west in California and Colorado before moving east with gigs in Illinois, Connecticuit, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and more. Consult the full tour schedule below.
