On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Port Chester, N.Y.’s The Capitol Theatre summoned the spirit of rock’s golden age with a performance from Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening. The cover outfit, led by the son of the late legendary Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, dove deep into the iconic band’s catalog, dishing out a total of 17 hard rock classics with a power and passion exceeded only by the original band itself. The band set off its performance with an explosive run of “In the Evening” from 1979’s In Through the Out Door, followed by a flashback to the self-titled 1969 debut with the unforgettable “Good Times Bad Times.” Further highlights arrived with fan favorites like “Ramble On,” “Heartbreaker,” “When the Levee Breaks,” “Dazed and Confused,” a medley of “Black Mountain Side” and “Kashmir” and, of course, “Stairway to Heaven.” Following an unexpected cover of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” that was greeted as an audience sing-along, Led Zeppelin Evening closed out its staging with “Whole Lotta Love” and “Rock and Roll.”
