Jack White Allegedly Tried to Fight Black Keys Drummer Patrick Carney

September 14, 2015

The feud between The Black Keys and Jack White reignited last night when drummer Patrick Carney allegedly claimed that White tried to fight him in a New York City bar. In a series of now-deleted tweets, Carney said that White came to a bar and tried to fight him. “I don’t fight and don’t get fighting but he was mad,” Carney said.

The drummer also took some additional shots at White, saying that Jack White is “basically Billy Corgans dumb ass zero t-shirt in human form” and “it might get loud but it might also get really really sad and pathetic.”

In a statement given to Entertainment Weekly, White said, “Nobody tried to fight you, Patrick. Nobody touched you or ‘bullied’ you. You were asked a question you couldn’t answer so you walked away. So quit whining to the Internet and speak face to face like a human being. End of story.”

Carney took to Twitter this morning to ultimately resolve the issue, saying, “Talked to Jack for an hour, he’s cool. All good.”

Update: White has issued another brief statement through his Third Man Records Twitter, saying, “From one musician to another, you have my respect Patrick Carney.”
