Gogol Bordello Announce Brooklyn Bowl New Year’s Shows in Philadelphia and New York

Today, iconic punk rock outfit Gogol Bordello announced that they’ll ring in the New Year at The Brooklyn Bowl in both Philadelphia and New York City. They’ll kick off the celebrations in Philadelphia with a show on Dec. 28 before heading to The Empire State for three nights in Brooklyn at the flagship locale on Dec. 29, 30 and 31.

Gogol Bordello have remained in the public eye since frontman Eugene Hütz released a video on social media condemning the Russian invasion and began raising relief funds for the victims of said invasion. Since then, they’ve set out on a benefit tour, collaborated with Les Claypool to create a song in honor of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s courage titled “Man with the Iron Balls,” and donated funds to Nova Ukraine, a non-profit that provides relief to the people of Ukraine.

The American punk rock band recently performed an unannounced show in Eastern Europe for Ukrainian soldiers on the frontlines. Hütz described the show as “An opportunity to support our fighters, defenders, border guards and some refugees with our band,” and the intention behind the show was to “support musically, morally, spiritually, and one more time see that music remains to be a very serious force, very serious weapon of defense for people for whom burning out and getting tired of war is not an option.”
