Last night, Eggy continued its current live itinerary by making a stop at Nashville’s Basement East. The follow-up from Chattanooga’s St. Patrick’s Day gesture revealed select guests during Wednesday’s concert, which continued the band’s special offering of shows while in the Volunteer State. As a one-off feature of their most recent gig, the group brought out friend and multi-instrumentalist John Mailander and vocal powerhouse Lilly Winwood.

Before welcoming guests to the stage, Eggy found a comfortable flow while delivering a series of originals that included: “A Moment’s Notice,” “Come Up Slow,” “Must Come Down,” “Razi” and “Parceled Serotonin.” The ensemble’s initial set got a lift via the arrival of Mailander and Winwood, who helped spark and add vigor to The Band’s plea against heartbreak, “Don’t Do It,” for the first time since Jan. 6, 2024, ending a 199-show gap. Notably, Mailander previously forged an onstage relationship with Eggy when they toured with Bruce Hornsby last fall. Mailander is a member of Bruce Hornsby’s Noisemakers, contributing both fiddle and mandolin.

Before turning in the first set, Eggy capped the collection with a guest-less take on “Silver Steed (My Blue).” Resuming their time at The Basement East, the Northeastern-bred ensemble kicked off the second set on their own. The group placed “Falsities and Fire” in set two’s opening slot. After demonstrating the capacity of their original, Mailander resumed his role as a guest, livening the night’s renditions of “Shallow Rivers” and “Agatha,” and going back and forth with lead guitarist Jake Brownstein, in an effortless collision of strings.

After Mailander left the stage, Eggy carried out “Way Of The Stone,” “Atomic Age,” and a take on John Brown’s Body’s “Searchlight.” The night’s encore consisted of a single cover, Kacey Musgraves’ original “Oh, What A World,” segued back to their own second set finale-featured, “Atomic Age.”

Tonight, the band will continue their tour route with an appearance in Knoxville, Tenn. Tickets remain on sale and can be purchased here.
