‘Easy Rider Live’ to Continue with Radio City Premiere as Tribute to Peter Fonda

Later this month, New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall will host Easy Rider Live, a special move/concert event showcasing the iconic 1969 film along with a live soundtrack, and in the wake of the recent passing of Peter Fonda last month, the gathering will now aim to celebrate the memory of the legendary actor, who both starred in as well as co-wrote Easy Rider.

The evening at Radio City—which will see Fonda and Dennis Hopper’s landmark movie screened with a live soundtrack performed by John Kay, Roger McGuinn and others, with producer T Bone Burnett—originally planned to kick off with a statement from Fonda himself.

Fonda’s wife, Parky, remarks on the special film and concert offering in a new statement, saying, “We are all still healing from Peter’s sudden passing, but he would insist that the message of Easy Rider and the culture for which it stands carry on. The celebration of a cinematic masterpiece, a Hollywood icon, and my beloved husband will not only be one of a kind, but exactly what he wanted.”

Easy Rider Live, which also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the film, is set for Sept. 20. More information can be found here.
