A cryptic post landed on social media this morning, appearing on Warren Haynes and Dave Matthews Band’s profiles. The graphic displays a birds-eye view of Madison Square Garden and the surrounding New York City skyline, with the venue’s roof edited to display a purple haze of clouds conjuring silhouettes of North Carolina and Florida along with the date: November 24, 2024. 

Considering each component of the post, it appears to suggest the impending announcement of a live music event featuring Haynes and Dave Matthews Band. The presence of the two states amongst the clouds in the image, seemingly alludes to recent weather events involving North Carolina and Florida, which were recently affected after Hurricane Helene, and, most recently, Hurricane Milton ripped through the region. 

In addition to the components listed above, the musicians’ connections to the affected states extend deeper, given Haynes’ Asheville upbringing and Dave Matthews’ own Southern roots in neighboring Virginia. The post arrived hours after Haynes postponed his annual Asheville, N.C. Christmas Jam, pushing the 33rd occasion to 2025 to give the beloved city a chance to rebuild and return more vital than ever. 

Notably, the Christmas Jam announcement denoted charitable efforts, which might be tied to the impending arrival of today’s teaser graphic: “That said, we know the people of Asheville, Western Carolina and everyone effected by Hurricane Helene as well as Hurricane Milton are in need of support and we are working on several initiatives including other benefit concerts in order to raise funds quickly.”
