Chris Cornell to be Buried in Los Angeles This Week
Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell will be laid to rest on Friday at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
Cornell died at 52 early Thursday morning after being found in his Detroit hotel room following a Soundgarden show at the Fox Theatre. Authorities confirmed that the famed rock singer hanged himself.
Results from a toxicology report are still yet to be released, as Cornell’s wife refuted the notion that he would intentionally take his own life. Cornell’s wife Vicky said that the singer appeared to have slurred speech as a result of Ativan, an anti-anxiety drug he was prescribed that can also lead to suicidal thoughts and impaired judgement.
A number of musicians have already paid tribute to Cornell in the wake of his passing including bandmates Matt Cameron and Mike McCready, who remembered their friend and bandmate on social media.
