Carlos Santana cancelled two performances on his Oneness Tour due to a COVID diagnosis. A statement from the legendary guitarist’s management emphasized that the artist is recovering and will resume his current outing as scheduled tomorrow, April 25.

Three nights into the spring series, Santana announced an abrupt postponement for his April 22 performance at San Antonio, Texas’ Majestic Theatre after a medical incident caused by dehydration interrupted his soundcheck. Shortly afterwards, manager Michael Vrionis took to Santana’s site and social channels to postpone the following evening’s performance as well, April 23 at Sugar Land, Texas’ Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land

“As some of you are aware, we postponed last night’s show in San Antonio,” Vrionis wrote. “Unfortunately, out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to also postpone this evening’s show in Sugar Land. Carlos experienced dehydration yesterday, and has since tested positive for Covid. I am happy to report that Carlos is doing well and will be back on his US Tour this Friday in Thackerville, OK. We appreciate everyone’s well wishes and concern. Carlos is looking forward to seeing you all very soon.”

Santana has urged ticketholders for the two postponed performances to wait for rescheduled tour dates. He’ll return to the stage tomorrow for a stand at Thackerville, Okla.’s Lucas Oil Live at WinStar, then wrap the remainder of his US dates with engagements at Tulsa, Okla.’s River Spirit Casino Resort on April 26 and Nashville, Tenn.’s Pinnacle on April 29. From June 9 to July 21, he’ll deliver 17 shows across Europe, including a high-profile booking at Montreux, Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival.
