Buck Meek has shared “Ring of Fire,” the second preview single from his forthcoming album The Mirror. Set to arrive on February 27 via 4AD, the singer-songwriter and Big Thief guitarist’s fourth solo studio offering feels around the hazy contours of love and intimacy with a wide-eyed reverence for their mercurial undercurrents. His latest advance offering is a radiant, gentle love song featuring backing vocals from his bandmate Adrienne Lenker.

The Mirror is another family affair for the members of Big Thief, with production duties helmed by drummer James Krivchenia, who has moved into more electronic experimentation in recent projects like his 2025 solo record Performing Belief. At Meek and Germaine Dunes’ log cabin studio, Ringo Bingo, the bandmates conspired to recombine that with Big Thief’s kinetic live energy, fostering a freely collaborative atmosphere and stitching in modular synthesizers to pursue a deeper sound. Lenker’s backing vocals appear throughout, alongside Jolie Holland, Staci Foster and Dunes, with other contributors including harpist Mary Lattimore and ambient composer Alex Somers.
