Bruce Springsteen to Reissue ‘Nebraska’ in Celebration of 40th Anniversary

Bruce Springsteen has announced he is planning to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his sixth studio album, Nebraska, with a special vinyl reissue.

The LP was originally released on Sept. 30, 1982, and is considered one of his most inspiring offerings. On the album, he tells describes the lives of people pushed to the brink of life and the edges of society.

All of the tunes on Nebraska were recorded as demos on a four-track, and though the boss had intended to re-record the tracks with The E Street Band, he decided to release the songs in their original form as they were unable to capture the feel of the trackings from the ’80s.

The reissue will serve as–a record of the month club–Vinyl Me, Please’s LP for October 2022, and pressed on exclusive 180g Black Smoke vinyl with art by Justin A. McHugh. The LP was mastered by recording engineer Barry Grint who is known for his work with The Beatles, Madonna and P. Diddy. The liner notes for the reissue were written by journalist and author of Springsteen’s biography Bruce, Peter Ames Carlin.

Springsteen is currently gearing up to take the road with his first tour in six years starting early next year. Find tickets here.
